Bare Minerals 'Flawless Definiton' Mascara

Getting new products for Christmas is always fun. Not only do you get products you have been wanting for a long time and constantly nagging your parents for, but you get products you would never have thought to get.

This Christmas I received the Bare Minerals Flawless Definition in the shade 'black.' I had heard of Bare Minerals before because of their well known powder foundations but I had never really looked further into the make-up brand even though I knew it was supposed to be good. When I received the mascara for Christmas I was excited to try it out and see if Bare Minerals was a make-up brand I would like to purchase more things from in the future.

The first impressions of the mascara were very good. The packaging is sleek and classy. It would also be easy to carry around; there is nothing worse than a bulky mascara digging into you from the inside of your blazer pocket! The wand applicator is very thin, fine and precise. At first I thought this may make my eyelashes look very thin and long. However it makes your eyelashes equally long and thick- infact it gives them ALOT of volume and length which is something I look for in a mascara.

Overall I am very impressed with the Bare Minerals mascara. Not only does the packaging look nice but the formula and applicator are both very good too. I will definitely be going back to look at more Bare Minerals stuff in the future.

What is your favourite mascara?

Christmas Day 2013

My home made Christmas cake!

My Mum's Links Of London bracelet from my Dad:')

 My main pressies!

All laid out for Christmas dinner! How exciting!

The BEST Christmas dinner ever!

Well there we go. Christmas day has finally been and now very sadly gone! I had an absolutely lovely day opening presents, eating Christmas dinner and hanging out with my lovely family. Just to clarify, my Grannie's Christmas dinner is the BEST ever and I'm pretty sure no-one could ever beat her roast potatoes!

I am so happy with everything I got and even though I believe Christmas should not just be about presents I was so so happy with the things I got and I feel like a very lucky girl!

I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas and got everything they wanted

Reflective Wednesday

So this post is going to be a little different from my regular beauty/lifestyle posts. I hope you don't mind! I thought I'd take the time to reflect over the past few weeks and get a few things off my chest.

Since coming back from and amazing tour with band to New Orleans I have been feeling a bit down in the dumps and low. Maybe this is because of the dull and rainy weather outside or just because I have come down from a massive high of a week with friends, sunny weather and incredible music. Part of the reason could be down to the typical teenage stress of school, busy schedules and trying to fit in meeting up and chilling with friends.

Learning from own experience and the experiences of friends has taught me that by only being negative you can end up shutting out the world and shutting others off from your life. Never be afraid to talk to anyone about how you are feeling. Bottling up feelings will only cause you to lash out at people who are trying to help you. By feeling down all the time you are not only affecting yourself but the people around you. You stop living and enjoying life and what it has to offer. Sometimes we need to simply stop feeling sorry for ourselves and think about the postitves. Doing this will not only make you feel a lot better but it will make the people around you feel a lot happier aswell.

So when you are feeling down, stressed or upset just plug your heaphones in, turn the volume up and let all your feelings just sink into the floor and remember things will get better :)

So what's your favourite feel good song?

My Birthday!

So I have to say this is a very late blog post but things have been so busy at the minute that I haven't had any time at all to actually sit down at my computer and write a post. It was recently my birthday (the 22nd of September to be precise!;)) so I thought I would share a few memories of the day and a few prezzies I got! :)

 NANDOS!!

 This candle literally smells amazing!

 Getting ready for winter!

This was the absolute best card I recieved and actually brought me to tears.

I had such an amazing birthday weekend packed full of parties, presents and memories I will never forget.

The Liebster Award

The other day I was nomitated by Bronwyn from teenagebeauty and Charlotte from thewildmovement for something called the Liebster Award. It is basically an 'award/ nomination' for bloggers with under two hundred followers so that they can meet and discover new blogs and people so I thought I may aswell accept the nomination.

In order to accept the nomination you have to answer 10 questions the nominee gave you, and then nominate serveal blogs for the award and ask them 10 questions. I suppose it is a bit like a tag if you like.. As I was nominated twice, therefore both blogs asked me 10 questions each, I thought it may be a bit too much to answer 20 questions on one blog post so I am going to take 5 questions from each (I hope I'm not bending the rules too much;))

1. Who is your favourite fashion designer?
I'd have to say Marc Jacobs. He is so quirky and I love everything he brings out including his perfumes which I now own 3 of!

2. One product you would continue to repurchase?
The Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation. I am in love with it. It is my favourite drugstore foundation ever. The consistency of it is amazing and it gives just the right amount of coverage, not too cakey and not too sheer.

3. Most worn item of clothing?
My Joni Jeans from Topshop, I practically live in them. I think they may possibly be the comfiest type of trouser in the world :)

4. What is your favourite makeup brand?
I'd love to say I have one but I have so many that I can't pick. I love a mixture of high-end and drugstore brands such as Mac, Bobbi Brown, Nars, Rimmel, Bourjois, Sleek...

5. Natural or straightened hair?
Probably straightened because my natural hair is a bit crazy but I love having my hair curly too.

6. Where would you like to live most in the planet?
Well I love England as it has amazing shops, good schools and lots of opportunity however I'd love to live somewhere hot. If England were hotter and had long summers then it would be my dream place but as it doesn't stay hot for more than about 3 weeks I think my dream place to live would be somewhere like LA or California because the weather, atmosphere and food all seem amazing!

7. Sweets or chocolate?
Well this is easy! CHOCOLATE ALL THE WAY!

8. What product has been on your wish list for a long time and still hasn't been bought?
Nars Sheer Glow foundation. I have never been able to bring myself to spend £30 on a bottle of it but I'm thinking that if I get any birthday money I might splash the cash and get some as it looks amazing!

9. Heels or flats?
It depends where I am going. If it is just casual day time then flats all the way! But say if I'm going out for a meal with friends or to a party then I love to wear heels.

10. Favourite accessory?
My two rings I wear on a daily basis. One is a pandora one and the other was my great auntie's and I love love love them both and literally can't go a day without wearing them!

So the people I am nominating are:
EvangelineYoung

And my questions for them are:
1. What is your go to/everyday hairstyle?
2. Most worn item of clothing?
3. If you could only own 3 makeup products for the rest of your life what would they be?
4. Which is your favourite season of the year and why?
5. Favourite hair product?
6. Favourite lipstick?
7. What is the best holiday you have been on?
8. Do you watch youtube videos and if you do, who is your favourite youtuber?
9. What is your favourite makeup look?
10. Your favourite shop?

August Favourites

First off, let me say... HOW IS IT ALREADY SEPTEMBER?! Wow, that's flown fast hasn't it! It seems only yesterday I was getting ready to start the best summer ever and, now we're into September, it's back to school and work! Hmph:( Here are some things I have been adoring through the month of August...

First of all is the Barry M Gelly High Shine Nail Polish. I got these in Boots with the 'buy one get the next half price' offer so I couldn't resist! I have them in the shades Lychee which is a gorgeous nude beige colour, Blueberry which is a very bright and bold blue colour, Prickly Pear which is a beautiful pastel purple colour and finally Guava which is a deep turquoise/ green/ blue colour! I love these because they apply really easily and are lovely and shiny and also very long wearing. I have worn some of the polishes for up to a week!

My next favourite is a product by Mac. I am a huge fan of Mac, all their products are beautiful and last for ages. When I was recently in Chester I went into Debenhams and picked up a veluxe pearl eyeshadow in the shade 'Woodwinked.' It is a gorgeous copper/ brown colour with shimmer running through it (which is a personal favourite of mine!). I bought it for £12.50 which I admit is rather pricey but for the quality of the product I think it's well worth it! I have been wearing this eyeshadow so much in the past month and if you are debating on getting a Mac eyeshadow I say take the plunge and splash out on one because they are fabulous!

Moving on, my next two monthly favourites are a couple of lip products. My first favourite is a Mac Cremesheen lipstick in the shade 'Creme Cup.' It is a beautiful pinky nude colour. It applies really well to the lip and gives a nice shiny finish. It looks especially nice with a tan and good for everyday wear. It also looks really nice with a smoky eye. Since I bought this product I have been wearing it daily, I just love it so much!

The next lip product is the Maybelline Baby Lips in the shade 'Pink Punch.' Baby Lips have been raved about so much on Blogger and Instagram that I just had to pick one up and try it for myself. And guess what?.. I love it!! It is basically a tinted lip balm. 'Pink Punch' leaves a gorgeous sheer, shiny, pink finish on the lips and it is perfect to wear on an everyday basis and if you're have a dry lip day. I am definitely going to be purchasing more of these because they are so easy to wear however I am probably only going to get the tinted ones because for proper lip balm I prefer the Nivea Essential Care lip salve.

Next up, I have been adoring this Sleek blush in the shade 'Rose Gold.' I bought this from Superdrug for £4.49 which I think is a very good price for a good quality blusher. I love the packaging it comes in, it has a good mirror and isn't too big and bulky. The colour of the blush is a gorgeous rose colour with a strong gold shimmer running through it. It is very pigmented as well so you don't need much which makes it last longer.

Next is the Real Techniques shading brush. I bought this from Boots for £6.99 and let me tell you, it is worth every penny! I use it for applying eyeshadow the the lid of my eye. It picks up a lot of product and applies it really well to the lid. I wouldn't recommend using it for the crease of your eye as it is a bit too dense for that. I am definitely getting more Real Techniques brushes to add to my collection because they are all brilliant and I love them:):):)

My next favourite is a recent website/app I have just discovered. I guess Pinterest is a little like Tumblr only it has a bit more structure to it. If you didn't already know what Pinterest is, it's a website where you can follow people and pin their photos onto different boards your page. So for example I have 3 boards at the minute which are 'Hair and Beauty', 'Quotes' and 'Fashion'. I really like this website because it is a great way of discovering new products and I personally love reading all the quotes.
If you would like to follow my Pinterest I have put a link down below:)

Next is a music favourite. I am a massive massive massive fan of Bastille and I am just obsessed with their Bad Blood album. All the song on the album are amazing and if you haven't got it you are missing out so go and buy it!! My favourite song from the album at the minute is 'Things We Lost in The Fire.'

My final favourite of August is a book by John Green called 'The Fault In Our Stars'. I read this whilst on holiday in Italy. The book was so good that I read it in two days, something I am really proud of! I won't give the story away but it is about a girl with cancer who meets a boy at a social group she attends. It is such a sad book but it really moved me. I am so so happy the book is being made into a film and I will definitely be reading more John Green books in the future.

I hope you enjoyed seeing the things I have been loving this August. So, what are your August must haves?
